WE'RE ON THE WAY!

The project was launched in the spring of 2005.

On 1st July 2010 the total amount of funds sponsored and pledged to the project or raised through our own activities, stood at £215,750.00

Our planning application to Wealden District council was approved in 2010, we purchased the land and work commenced in January 2011. In the meantime we continue to raise the funds that will be required to fit out the specialist units within the hospital, such as ICU, a veterinary suite, hedgehog unit, badger unit and bird unit. It is estimated that each of these will cost on average £10.000

The first of these specialist units, Intensive Care, has now been sponsored by Care for the Wild International and its supporters to the tune of £11,400. We are extremely grateful to them for this wonderful donation.

A grant of £5000 has been received from Pets At Home, via their Support Adoption For Pets scheme, to go towards the hedgehog unit. A further £1000 has also been granted by the Barry Green Memorial Fund.

Fundraising is also underway for the badger unit, and has also got off to a flying start with the proceeds of our recent ebay auction of Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton memorabilia, which has raised an amazing £1120.00. Our grateful thanks too go to Mr Brien Comerford for his very generous additional donation made in honour of Jeff Beck.

This goal is now very much in sight but we still need funds, so if you want to contribute towards this exciting project, you can become a 'Founder' and sponsor a unit of £250 knowing that your contribution will help establish and equip a dedicated and much needed wildlife hospital for Kent & Sussex.
