Wildlife Hospital Project - We're There! The Folly Wildlife Rescue Trust is a charity (Registered Charity 1091857) dedicated to the rescue, care, treatment and rehabilitation of injured wild animals and birds. On November 30th 2009, the Trust's planning application for a new wildlife hospital was submitted to Wealden District Council and on January 25th 2010 approval was granted. On July 6th 2010, the Trust completed on the purchase of its new site and work will commence there shortly. The site itself is in Fairview Lane, Tunbridge Wells, just off the A26 at Eridge Green. Covering some 5 acres, it will be ideal for our needs, being in a rural but not isolated position. We intend to put in three core buildings including a dedicated animal unit that will house an Intensive Care facility, badger, hedgehog and bird units, a food preperation/utility area, veterinary suite and water bird unit.Out on the site we will situate numerous rehabilitation pens and enclosures, as well as a holding area for badger cubs and a rearing area for deer fawns. All this will take time (and of course money) and we look now to raising the estimated £50,000 that it will take to finish the project. If you would like to join us or have an idea for fundraising, then we would very much like to hear from you.
This site will be closed shortly but you can visit our main site at www.follywildliferescue.org.uk You can also click onto our Facebook page there and get up to the minute news on the our work and the progress of the project.
