Wildlife Hospital Project - We're There!
The Folly Wildlife Rescue Trust is a charity (Registered Charity 1091857) dedicated to the rescue, care, treatment and rehabilitation of injured wild animals and birds.
On November 30th 2009, the Trust's planning application for a new wildlife hospital was submitted to Wealden District Council and on January 25th 2010 approval was granted.
On July 6th 2010, the Trust completed on the purchase of its new site and work commenced on January 24th 2011.
The site itself is in Fairview Lane, Tunbridge Wells, just off the A26 at Eridge Green. Covering some 5 acres, it will be ideal for our needs, being in a rural but not isolated position. We intend to put in three core buildings including a dedicated animal unit that will house an Intensive Care facility, badger, hedgehog and bird units, a food preperation/utility area, veterinary suite and water bird unit.
Out on the site we will situate numerous rehabilitation pens and enclosures, as well as a holding area for badger cubs and a rearing area for deer fawns.
By late summer 2011, the three core buildings at the centre were complete and fitting out had begun. The Trust hope to open the new centre by the end of the year or early in 2012.
It now plans a fourth building to house a dedicated waterbird unit, a second hedgehog unit and a veterinary and x-ray unit. Fundraising for this and other facilities such as aviaries and pens on the site is now underway.

Finally, our grateful thanks to everyone out there who had faith in what we were looking to do and gave their generous support to it!
